Ozone Destructors

The Ozone Destruct technology safely destroys dangerous off-gassing ozone when making ozonated water or other products. Our QD-Ozone Destruct Series utilizes a Thermal-Catalytic method to remove excess ozone. The catalyst is a transition metal manganese dioxide-copper oxide material. It is not consumed by the ozone and acts as a true catalyst, and can give many years of service. This catalyst system destroys more than 99% of ambient high-concentration ozone. The catalyst method required less reaction time than thermal destruction and can react at room temperature. Ozone is converted to safe oxygen.

Typical applications are contact-tank with off gas situations, resulting in ozone creating
dangerous working environments. Our QD-Series of Ozone Destructs are also available with heating elements. The heating ensures that the temperature is maintained above dew point at all times and thus avoids condensation of water vapor in the catalyst material. This is a very economical and reliable method of eliminating ozone in off-gas to acceptable levels prior to discharge into the atmosphere.
